Core and Major Database update
I know I do not normally do updates on weekends but with my limited schedual recently I am going to have to. Server will be coming down around 5 am server time Sunday, Oct. 14th for maintenance and updates. Expected down time approximately 1 and a half to 2 hours. The database has been completely redone. Everything other than the character and account related tables will be rewritten. Just for example this new db will add almost 2000 new spawns and over 9000 new loot entries amoung other things like about 30 or 40 added quests and some modifications to help the Rep issues. Yes there are bound to be some things still missing and probably some things we fixed will be broken again but this is a major step in the right direction. Everything I have seen so far -*test*-('")ing this new db has been for the better. Please DO NOT update your game client, unfortunately we will still be running version 2.1.3 after this core update.

sweet, great news. and i should still be asleep so i don't have to worry about waiting, i love it :). quick question though. I love this server and no longer play retail so I'm not worried about whether its updated with blizz servers or not. But when this is taking this long to update to their patch, how long after the new expansion is released before we will get to see it?

Its really hard to say in all honesty but I think the issue with this patch in particular has alot to do with having to integrate a chat server for the new voice chat system that was introduced with this la-*test*-('") patch. As for an expansion thats also hard to say but I do recall thinking when we finally got BC here it was alot sooner than I had expected. Ill look back and see how long that actually took. It also has alot to do with how many people are actively working on the Core at any given time.
